Burlington Garden tours

Have you ever participated in a garden tour? Well, you definitely should! In Burlington, it was so fun, well organized, and inspiring!

There were so many winding turns, garden gates, and interesting surprises.

The theme this year must have been rock/stone scapes and shade.

We saw so many different varieties of plants.

I will need to purchase trumpet vine and to try planting artichokes next year!!!

Simon Pearce vases were on display at one house. Beautiful!

So many beautiful and different container ideas! We saw many varieties of Caladium.

And my favorite, Coleus.

This open house was amazing! I love seeing old houses rescued!

Can you imagine this wagon in the fall with pumpkins and mums?

This event was such a wonderful and relaxing way to spend the day. Now, to make use of some of those ideas...

Rainy day intermission

It's a midweek, rainy, summer day. Perfect time to take a break from working around the house to take some pictures. I love days like these...

The best part of Summer is definitely the gift of more time! Time to hang at home and appreciate.

Time to get the things done that I have wanted to do during the busy work weeks.

Time to garden, remodel, clean, cook and work on fun projects. It sounds crazy but I love it all when there is TIME!

Time to enjoy my home. ( I am such a homebody anyway 😀)

Time to bake delicious chocolate brownies and walk through the yard taking rainy day photos.

Time to feel quite happy with my surroundings and really enjoy every moment of this relaxed Summer.

Time to take a deep breath before the family reunion here tomorrow. 😱 Phew...

And time to deadhead all of these poor wet petunias!!

😀😀😀

Did the Karate Kid kill the fish?

Did the Karate Kid kill the fish? Interesting question...
On some few occasions, I have been known to be called a bull in a china shop. When working around the house I am like a freight train moving forward, getting things done. This week I felt like Daniel Larusso.
Sand the floor (side, side)...

Paint the fence ( Up, Down)

Paint more fence ( Up, Down!)

I doubt the Karate Kid got excited about seeing the first Zinnia.

And if he really wanted to do some more training, Mr. Miyagi would have said...

Weed garden!

Paint more floor!

So back to my question, Did Daniel Larusso kill the fish?? When I am in my go, go, work, work, mode, sometimes I don't think, think!! Get out of my way or you will be painted on mode.
The deck stain is not drying the way it is supposed to. We are going to have thunderstorms today! Gasp! What was I thinking???

I am so worried about runoff into the pond!! The thought came to mind after I stained off course. See the tarp? ↑
I am so mad at myself, Daniel, and Mr. Miyagi too!

Hopefully, the pond will survive the freight train (me)!

Stay tuned...
