Flea market Finds!

What a beautiful weekend for flea markets! My Mom and I had great time and we made out like Bandits!
We made so many trips to the car that one of the vendors asked us if we had our own shop! I wish!

The main goal? Anything old and rusty for the garden, scales, and unique old stuff!

Mission accomplished!

You can never have too many flower containers!

Or scales...

Oh, sleds and old windows too! Totally my son's idea for the shed.

Some really cute antique buttons that I made into a bracelet.

Lastly, this little treasure was thrown in for free because I was laughing so hard! P.S. I do own a record player... Da Do Run Run!
Thanks for visiting!

First Day of Summer Vacation

Today is the first official day of Summer vacation. Don't get me wrong, I love being a teacher! Which is why I signed up to tutor a little bit this summer. However, I love having the free time to work outside! Come on in...

Emily is usually by my side when working. She likes to walk around with us in the evening when we check the progress.

There are plenty of places to sit and relax...

Last night my son asked me why I enjoyed gardening so much.

Well, I told him that it takes...

Love, and Patience...

And with some help along the way. "Where do you want me to help you dig?"

The rewards are amazing! So my son said, "kind of like teaching?"
And  I said, "Yes, Bud... just like teaching." Wink.

Sunny and 85

What a beautiful day up here!
Sunny and 85 in early June! After the stormy and cold winter that we had it sure was a treat!
We spent a lazy day on the lake with friends and family.

We still had to take part in our nightly ritual of walking around checking the progress.

Garden is progressing along...

Peonies about to pop!
I love when I forgot the new stuff that I planted from last year!

It's a great treat when you buy them cheap and past their bloom time! The reward of seeing them next year is priceless!
I forgot how many new peonies I actually bought!
Still waiting for our water lilies to get going!

The Lupins are coming!
 Veggies Galore!

It's hard to say goodbye to the tulips.

Looking to find many more treasures from flea markets this summer! Appreciating the days!

Best things in life are free

The best things in life are certainly free!

Free Lilac bushes from an over crowded woods,
Free Smiles from my son who loves purple and tulips who helped me plant these in the Fall.

Free Sap buckets from an antique shop owner, who said you can take as many as you like as long as you make a donation towards pets that need good homes. Free stories about how he found his beautiful pets and how we are blessed to find ours.

Free ugly, brassy table that needed a new life, and my husband said, "Really?" when he helped me hall it into the car.

Free pieces of wood after the huge ice storm on the side of the road ( In March!) where once again my husband said, "Really?" ( who by the way now loves it!)

But most of all:
These are the best things that are free:

1. Love, My children and my husband.
My children being healthy and happy.

2. Family.
3. Just being able to wake up to the sun shining in the morning.
4. The ability to overcome hardships and appreciate what I already have instead of wishing I had more.
5. The ridiculous things my dog and cat does. ~and their deep sighs when you kiss them when they are sleeping!
6. Every breath I take reminds me I’m still here and still have much to enjoy.
7. The ones who never give up on me.
8. Positive and creative people.
9. Hugs and smiles from my family
10. Digging in God's soil and watching things grow!

the world will reveal its beauty to us.” ~Daisaku Ikeda
