Glitter everywhere

I've been admiring Putz Vintage cardboard houses for a while now. I've seen the new ones pop up everywhere this year. I'm not sure I appreciated the price for them however. Thought I would give it a try...

I can't say I followed a template :(

I looked at some on Pinterest and did what I could.

I figured that it would be kind of like building a gingerbread house.

Cardboard is really forgiving! A glue gun was definitely needed!

White paint definitely covers up imperfections. I used parchment paper to line the inside of the windows for lighting.

Then of course, glitter makes everything beautiful even though it is now officially everywhere!

This was so much fun, I encourage anyone to give it a try.

Last but not least, an almost finished project...(all while It's a Wonderful Life played in the background!)

Battery operated light and voila...
Cardboard glitter house. Really fun!

 Happy Holidays!!

Jolly inside and out

We have officially decked the halls inside and out.

We may have gone overboard with lights, maybe...

The twinkle is everywhere.

Every little nook, cranny and cloche decked.

My kids think I'm nuts with all the cheer.

However, when completely finished they say, "Is that all you have for decorations Mom?

Really???

I'm so happy that my family enjoys the total home transformation.

It certainly brings a smile to our faces.

Hope you all are enjoying every moment of this merry season!

Where's the snow?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here, except oddly there is no snow!

The day after Thanksgiving, my son and I worked together for HOURS !!!

To start to pull together the outside.

The collecting of the greens is always comical! There may have been a slight allergic reaction after the collecting :(

Worth it?? I think.

Good news is that we had a rather mild working day.

This time last year there was snow.

Breaking out the old sled just may be good luck.

For the forecast at the end of this week?

Yes...
THERE WILL BE SNOW!

I hope!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I am feeling blissful and blessed.

Happy to have a healthy, loving family.

Proud of my boys and happy to find the love of my life.

So grateful for good friends, new and old.

Wishing you all the very best on this Thanksgiving Day!

I am so looking forward to the kick off of the most magical time of year!

God bless!

Going to need a bigger boat!

Did you ever see something in a store that you almost passed up because you thought to yourself, "Where am I going to put that?"

I do all the time! Except I usually still buy it anyway!
This time I am so glad I did.

A pair of really chippy shutters from a super antique store in Shelburne, VT called Champlain Valley Antique Center.

It was one of those scenarios when you walk away and come back to it so many times questioning should I or should I not and the "Where am I going to put it," conversation with my friend.

It was a great price, and I have a great friend that convinced me to make the purchase! One of those purchases that you can see being used to decorate for the upcoming holidays ( That I get so overly excited about so early!!)

After all looking around my home, I do love vintage and chippy!

Every time I bring home something like this my husband greets me with the "We're going to need a bigger boat," ongoing joke.

And the, "where are you going to put that?"

Which is always returned with a, "Don't worry, I'll find a place!" :)

No buyers remorse here! Have a super day!

Posting while Snowing!!! AHHH!

Oh beautiful Fall, I am so thankful that it is a breathtaking season up here. It distracts me from saying goodbye to my garden and flowers.

That first morning when I see that my Dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias are gone...

Is needless to say hard for me.

I am so Thankful that there is still so much beauty around.

So much color and warmth.

Time for warm soups and warm sweet drinks,

Family traditions and upcoming holidays to look forward to.

My family definitely looks forward to that first of the season cozy fire.

And of course, fresh baked apple pie!

I am looking forward to this new season...

Enjoying these beautiful days with car rides and walks.

The last of my perennials. :(
Cheers and saying goodbye until next year. :)
Another season awaits...
