This weekend felt like summer!!!! Definitely hard to return to work today when I am already in summer mode. I think in some ways I am worse than my students! Ready for summer vacation!!
Well, it was a very busy weekend! Didn't get to go out on our boat because there is so much to do outside first. My vegetable garden is in!!! window boxes and most planters done! And..... the pond is really coming along!
My husband is such a dork...... He is however seriously excited about creating this water feature!
Below, my son working hard????
Ahh middle school the fun years..............

And here are some of the planters.... I hate the way they look at first though so I will be sure to post their progress.

And The progress of the newest shade garden, the forget-me-nots are beautiful

Wow another Friday!!!! It's going to be an amazing sunny and warm weekend!!! There is so much work to do outside of my house, so that's the plan. Resume digging the pond!!! I really hope to able to post some pictures of the progress..... but in the meantime look at some of these beautiful inspirational photos.
This will inspire me to also work on my sun room this summer when school is out. I love this green!
Beautiful baskets....
I can see this with some sap buckets!

As promised here are some of my own drift wood projects. I have to apologize for the lighting, my husband is definitely better at the photography piece. I just took some quick shots. My son and I had such a great time collecting the pieces, it brings back a great memory! We filled a giant LL Bean bag of the stuff. Looking at these pictures makes me realize that I definitely want to collect more soon for another project!

This next shot I have to admit is of a frame that I purchased in a quaint shop when my husband and I were in Portsmouth, NH. It was a little pricey which inspired me to make my own projects! Plus I think the driftwood looks a little fake. The shop that I bought it from was amazing! I think it was called City and Country. The picture of the bicycle however, is my oldest sons. He showed an interest in photography with my husband. I loved it!
The next shot, I just glued the wood to a simple wooden box that I put together.  I need a few more pieces at the corners....
Hopefully this summer I will post again with some new driftwood projects!

Along with digging the pond, which I firmly believe will take forever!, I will finally be taking the cover off our boat anxiously awaiting our first launch of the season. So since there hasn't been much progress to our front yard, I thought I would post some driftwood idea pictures. My youngest son and I collected so much on the lake that I was able to make a container and a few frames ( will share pics tomorrow of my creations) I love when a craft is free!!! Here are some beautiful driftwood crafts.
With a hot glue gun and some time this is really easy to do on a smaller scale.

Beautiful!!! The water is calling my name!!

Well, this is the first minute I had for a new post. I had a fantastic Mother's day weekend! My husband and my boys made it really special and I am truly blessed!
We worked really hard on our front yard project and unfortunately encountered some stumbling blocks.
Needless to say we have a long way to go, Phew!!! Here is our vision: (or it least close too :) )
Gotta shoot for the moon right?
And here is our start, modified the deck and bridge a bit,
A family affair, draining the old water feature ( which was beautiful by the way), clearing sod, and preparing to dig.
We started digging ourselves, and quickly realized a backhoe! Rocky soil!! Then my husband made some calls to some friends, and we then were shocked by the price!!! Even from friends! So, the slow digging process will resume tonight, :(
I hope to eventually be able to post an after shot, soon?, maybe? Onward and upward my friends!

Yeah!!! It's Friday!!! And it's mother's day weekend! My husband is taking me to my favorite nursery to "stock up" and then  my family and I are going to work on completing the deck. Deck first, then pond shortly after.
Here is the design idea for our front yard:

I will post the before photos this weekend. The framing of the deck is done we just need to start adding the top layer thanks to my Dad. It's going to be a family affair with my sister-in-law, hubby and parents. Maybe we can even get a little digging help from my dogs....... Stay tuned. It's supposed to be a perfect weekend hopefully in the 70's!

Another post with the weekend in mind. Just two more days until I can roll up my sleeves and begin working! My family and I have quite the project in the works. I will be posting some before and hopefully after pictures soon. Until then  I thought I would display some beautiful flower container ideas.
Go big or go home I guess...
Quaint rusty bike with flowers is always a favorite....

And finally I found these containers from saveoncrafts.com just waiting to be filled!!
I hope to head to my favorite nursery this weekend!!! Enjoy!

Today's post is dedicated to the gardening weekend!! It's kind of a rainy gloomy day up here. A perfect day outside for a work day inside. It's hard to look out the window while your at work and it's an absolutely beautiful day out, a day that I can be working outside!!!! So here's to some beautiful flower boxes. Can't wait to start filling mine!!

I know this is more of  a fall window box, but I just love fall colors!!

Can you believe this place? Fantastic......
Love the black shutters against the brick, charming!

Showers bring flowers right??

Well it's been  a long time since my last post.... so I figured I would try to get right back into it by posting some BEAUTIFUL pics of some of my favorite cottage kitchens.

LOve!!! The green in this last one. I am counting the days until summer vacation to spend some more time in my garden and my kitchen!!!
