Kitchen reveal!

I've had quite a bit to deal with and process through this month. Unfortunately, I received some sad news. For as long as I can remember, when I am sad/stressed I like to actually put more on my plate!! I know!  Crazy right? Anyhoo...

In the midst of my tough days, I thought it would be a fantastic idea to rip apart my kitchen and paint for several hours! I have toyed with the idea of painting my cabinets for so long but wasn't willing to take the risk until now!
Hello dated orangey kitchen. Or should I say, Bye bye bye.
I'm so over you!! My granite counter tops are being over shadowed by 90's oak! Gasp!

And the big black box of a refrigerator! Bye, Bye! The stainless has been ordered! Of course I had to pick the prime time of year to paint. In the middle of a freezing winter right!?! Sure.
Who cares. I was off and running :)

( vegetable cans to prop up the cabinet doors. Very professional!)

With a lot of primer, patience, maybe some tears, alone time, and basement space it was about to happen! I think it was a perfect distraction from being sad. Luckily, I was also gifted a snow day so I was able to get a lot done!

And here are the results!!

( A night time photo)

And, Voila!

Well almost.

You can see all the way in the right hand corner that I am not completely finished. I am so close! This weekend it should be all done and I will then wait for my new fridge!

This transformation was exactly what I needed to brighten my mood along with some other cheery accents...

Oh boy, when the kitchen is done...
There has to be another project on the horizon. Hmmmm...

I may have an idea :)

It's a lazy Sunday, meatloaf, take it all in, count your blessings kind of night.

It's a lazy Sunday, meatloaf, take it all in kind of night...
The roads were terrible today so we were completely sidelined on this Sunday!
We had plans! Lots of plans! Shopping, Concerts, Christmas traditions, etc!
Until the roads were just not safe to travel. So today turned into a take a deep breath, take it all in, count your blessings, watch the Giants beat Detroit, make meat loaf, cozy fire watching, Christmas movie watching kind of day. Phew! ~ And it was everything we hoped it would be. Peaceful, :)

Soon we will say goodbye to one of our favorite times of the year.

Today was the perfect opportunity to stop, slow down, and enjoy.

And eat meatloaf of course!

Happy holidays to all!

Wassail Weekend, Woodstock

We just had a wonderful, festive, quintessential weekend in Woodstock VT. Wassail weekend that is. The town is a favorite of my husband and I. We have spent a few weekends in the Summer and Fall and absolutely love the town more with each visit.

There is also an antique mall just down the road!

The store fronts are amazing and the parade was so fun!

And a bonus?
We had a snow day on Monday which gave me an extra day to bake cookies and play with some more holiday projects!

Lastly, a pillow made from a gift sack found at Homegoods.

Enjoy!!

More tidings

More tidings, because frankly it's that time of year and I can't seem to stop.

We waited to pick out our tree until it looked like this outside...
It just has to be white :)

And of course people of all ages need a well stocked hot cocoa bar!

With peppermint chips, marshmallows, and plenty of extra sweets! ( Buddy Elf would totally agree!)

Absolutely everyone in the world needs to own something vintage! They just have to! I have been wanting this next piece for a very long time!

Ha-lle-lu-jah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halle-le-u-jah!!!

Found while shopping with one of my favorite friends!! (Yes, I know you will eventually see my blog :) )
P.S. Her house is amazing!!! My friend has mad decorating skills!
Any whooo...

The tree! ( and cocoa bar)

I hope you are enjoying this season to the fullest! Live this season as if you were Buddy Elf!
"We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup."

~And lots of decorations! I think Buddy would agree!

The most Wonderful (and busy) time of year

The day before Thanksgiving looked like this...

Cozy right? Well, my son and I have a tradition that directly after the Thanksgiving meal, it's on!
We're off an running!

Decorating for Christmas that is! It usually is a 2-3 day process and this year we had some snow to contend with. We loved it!

We also had our usual helper :)

My family, friends, and colleagues know that I am a Christmas nut!

It's an all day Christmas music listening, "It's a Wonderful Life," watching, Clark Griswold style, over the top kind of nuts!
~And I have passed it onto my son...
Poor kid.

He is a little hooked on lights, and is always so helpful. He understands my kind of Christmas nutty.

Excuse the grainy photo. I need to get out there and take some night photos!

Yes, my son and I were busy! Inside the house and out!

I hope you'll enjoy the inside tour.

We still need to pick out our actual tree.

This weekend, the tree cutting and decorating ceremony will happen. :)
My favorite part of the decorating.

This year, we have added an additional flocked tree. You can never have enough fully decorated trees right?

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the best time of the year!

Happy Holidays!!
