Holding on to the warm sunny days...

It occurred to me while at a harvest market with a friend that I had not yet decorated for the fall! What??

Every year I get more into my gardening so I never want to let the summer go!

I even fear the first frost! My flowers!!

I do realize that all good things must come to an end...

Lately however, I'd rather think of it as ~ One door closes and another one opens.~

What is behind this door is amazing. Another beautiful season awaits to be embraced!

New things to look forward to.

Pumpkins and spice and everything nice.

Warm cozy candlelight dinners, warm homemade apple pie, cozy hugs from the ones you love!

Cozy fires! Snuggling up on the couch with popcorn and a good movie.

Leaves crinkling under foot walking on beautiful, vibrant colorful trails.

Autumn skies and pumpkin pies.

Bringing the fall outside in.

\

The "she shed" needs some festive decor too!

Anything baked with pumpkin and chocolate is always perfect!

And finding that perfect antique with a dear friend that tells you you must have this! (She was so right)

Autumn is truly a magical time!

Enjoy!

Taking it all in~

Labor day weekend is sometimes what mark's the end of the summer. Shhh, don't tell the flowers!

This is the time of year when I don't want that first frost to be approaching. I'm not ready!

Even on our most busiest of days, my husband and I make sure we walk around the gardens. He knows how much the flowers mean to me ;)

We have to check on our fish too.

Once we start walking around its hard to go back inside!

Next thing we know, it starts getting dark.

Trying to soak up and enjoy every moment outdoors.

Enjoy every last moment of this beautiful season, another one is just around the corner!

The she shed

My mother needs to stay off of pinterest! No, not really. I love the many ideas myself! However, some people tend to see an idea and want to just go for it no matter how daunting the task my be. Exhibit A :

~The She Shed~

It once housed tools, mowers, sports equipment, etc. Luckily we had another shed on our property so we consolidated and organized.

Step one:
Painting

White washing everything!! And painting the floor.

Now, the fun stuff. Decorating! Yes, there is a crystal chandelier!

This space has become such a nice place to have a cup of coffee in the morning because it opens up to some of my gardens and a view to the bird feeders.

It's become a great place to read, paint, listen to the record player or sip a nice glass of wine.

I even caught my husband and two boys playing chess in the SHE shed, What???

I hope you enjoyed the tour and I can't wait to decorate it this Fall.

Dilly Beans and Phlox

Time moves slower in the garden. There is a deep sense of peace, accomplishment, and appreciation.

Two of my favorite things unfold in August, that is the aroma of Phlox, and the creation of Dilly Beans!

I fell in love with canning a few years back.

There is just something about enjoying your garden in the winter months, it's somewhat nostalgic.

Remembering the bounty and the warm Summer days...

A slight breeze,

And the smell of Phlox!

I love how Phlox are strong and independent plants.

They don't seem to grow necessarily where you plant them.

They have a mind of their own and they know what they need! They seem to just pop up in the least expected places. Sometimes even in the midst of my blueberry bushes??

They are certainly something to be admired.

Still soaking up every moment of the lazy days of Summer! Phlox and Dilly beans, what a pair! Hope you are taking it all in too!

August, the lazy Sunday.

June, July, and August are very similar to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a teacher!

And frankly, I can't believe that it is August already.

Hmmm, that feeling of Sunday before a long work week.

I feel like June (Friday) and July (Saturday) went so quickly because we were on the go!

On the go traveling, boating, playing, and visiting. Fun stuff, of course.

But now I think it's time to slow it down like a lazy Sunday. (August)

Appreciate...

Less scheduled activities...

And by making a conscious effort to slow down...

Time might just slow down too ;)

I hope! Enjoy!
