One of the most special Birthdays

So there once was this guy, who after a long day of travel ( driving and flying from FL) was shown one of the most beautiful things in the world. It was chippy, old, full of character, and HEAVY!

This big piece of vintage bliss was on a porch of an abandoned house. His wife thought that she just had to have it!! Afterall, it was free! And she has been eyeballing it for weeks! Weeks! Always afraid that someone else would pick it up or even worse destroy it.

After that long day of travel, the husband said, "Sure, if it means that much to you, let's try to pick it up."

After agreeing the couple was faced with frozen truck hatches, and weight of this thing that was not what they had bargained for. Too heavy in fact.
The couple drove away disappointed. The wife was disappointed because it was a no -go, and the husband disappointed because he knew his wife wanted it so much.

Then behind the scenes without his wife knowing, he planned and planned not giving up. He found a strong friend and brought the enormously heavy vintage bliss home for his wife's birthday. What a surprise! She couldn't believe it! How? When?
She hugged him with love and appreciation and had one of the best birthdays ever.

I always knew that I married the sweetest, kindest man on the planet! πŸ˜‰ And grateful for helpful sons that helped move it to the perfect spot...for now πŸ˜‰This was a very special birthday that I will always remember.

Another meatloaf night

So there was this post from last year called, "taking it all in, meatloaf kind of night," that I remembered last night. Last night was a meatloaf night again.

It was different this year. My husband is trying all sorts of things to keep my mind off an upcoming flight and is desperately trying to keep me from feeling stressed. Did I mention that I am terrified to fly? I definitely like my feet touching the ground.

So last night we watched my favorite movie that I watch a million times a year. And... we had meatloaf! Yes, another taking it all in, delicious meatloaf kind of night.

Never was a fan when I was a kid, but lately, we seem to have been able to make the best tasting meatloaf ever! Tip: add jalapenos and adult ketchup!

As we were relaxing by the fire from our woodstove and by the light of the tree with meatloaf and a movie, a few deep breaths and sighs were happening.

Mostly sighs of relief, because my husband is the sweetest most helpful man I know.  He knows me better than anyone. It truly is a Wonderful Life.

May your days also be Merry and bright!

More tidings?

Perfect weekend to cut down our tree and add more, yes more Christmas decorations! ( That is our tree front row ↓)

We always could use more tidings and decking of the halls 😁

Old window with Doilies on the mantel.

Wrapping paper craft for a cloche.

Most stores are selling these fabric gift sacks that make excellent pillow covers!

Santa is watching! Over the top decorating is ok! Christmas comes but once a year :) So get going...

The transformation has started. I have said this before, "I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!" Everything about it, from stores to restaurants, to my home! Love. Here is the start of the madness... I mean bliss!

Just a small start 😁

Happy Thanksgiving to All

Happy Thanksgiving! This is one of my favorite days of the year!

I love the cooking and the Macy's Parade. I have to admit that I have started to decorate for Christmas outside already, however, it is still very much Harvest on the inside.

Tomorrow, on the other hand, will be VERY different! Looking forward to the indoor transformation!!

For now, I am so Thankful for many things. Most of all my family. I am looking forward to a delicious meal with the ones I love. Hope you are all doing the same. :)

The quiet before the overhall...

I do try so hard not to start to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving! I will admit, it's tough. I can't help but buy new decor early. My boys often chuckle at me when I start to listen to Christmas music and when I buy my yearly, cheesy, Christmas novel from the pharmacy in November. So, this is the quiet before the transform...

Soon saying goodbye to the harvest decor.

The recent snow up here has not helped with the temptation to deck the halls early!

There is definitely frost on the pumpkins ;)

To tide me over, I have watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles a few times to get excited about Thanksgiving first. My family knows that it's a yearly must!

I do love Thanksgiving day! Football, cooking, eating, and my favorite part the parade. The parade is the best part because the grand finale is Santa basically saying, "Let the season begin!" And, Oh it will!

The fall was lovely, but I am ready for the next wonderful season! Goodbye pumpkin patch until next year, Hello Winter Wonderland!

It's coming! The decking of the halls :))) and the jolliest season of them all.
SOoooo, I had to start a little bit today. ( I blame it on the newly fallen snow😁😁 and the radio stations already playing holiday music.)

Greens !

And a little wrapping paper left over from last year. I can't have garden prints up this time of year, Right??

Just a little bit,

I won't do anything else until after Thanksgiving, I think. πŸ˜€
